As a family-owned company, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service while investing in our employees through training, advancement opportunities, and a supportive team environment.We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician to service and inspect commercial fire alarm and life safety systems for our customers. If you're dependable, customer-focused, and take pride in quality workmanship, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoService, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems and related life safety equipment, ensuring all systems operate efficiently, meet applicable code requirements, and provide reliable protection for customers.Diagnose and repair system issues, including fire alarm control panels, detectors, notification devices, and wiring.Perform system programming, configuration, and software updates as required.Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency reports accurately and on time.Document deficiencies, repairs, and recommendations, and communicate findings with customers.Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.Ensure compliance with NFPA, state, and local fire codes.Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal team members.Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle.Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Experience servicing, inspecting, or troubleshooting fire alarm, life safety, or low-voltage systems.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Proficient with mobile devices, apps, and service software.Basic understanding of IT networks and system integration.Manufacturer certifications (Notifier, Silent Knight, Honeywell, etc.) are a plus.Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Brooklyn, Ohio location.Must be willing to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.Physical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs.Push or pull more than 75 lbs.Safely climb ladders up to 12 feet and operate a man lift.Drive to customer job sites throughout Northeast Ohio.Stand and walk for extended periods.Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Safely use hand and power tools.Why Join Gene Ptacek & Son Fire Equipment?Competitive pay based on experienceCompany vehicle (when applicable)Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and paid holidaysCompany-paid training and certification opportunitiesCareer advancement opportunitiesFamily-owned company celebrating over 50 years of protecting lives and propertySupportive team environment where quality work is valuedApply Today! xhyhwjd If you're looking for a career with a respected, family-owned company that values craftsmanship, customer service, and professional growth, we'd love to hear from you.
