Capital Equipment Sales Engineer

Location: Northern Virginia / Washington DC / Maryland (Remote / Field-Based)

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 Base* + Commission | $150,000–$200,000+ Earning Potential

The Opportunity

\n

We're recruiting for an established industrial equipment company looking to appoint a Capital Equipment Sales Engineer to expand its presence across Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.

\n

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a technical sales professional experienced in selling engineered capital equipment through MEP consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and industrial customers.

\n

\n

You'll be responsible for developing new business, influencing equipment specifications, and managing opportunities through the bid/spec sales process.

\n

\n

Direct boiler experience is not essential , with comprehensive in-house and manufacturer-led training provided.

\n

\n

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Develop new business opportunities selling industrial and commercial capital equipment.
\n
• Build relationships with MEP consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and industrial customers.
\n
• Influence equipment specifications and manage opportunities through the bidding process.
\n
• Sell steam boilers, hydronic systems, heat exchangers, and associated mechanical equipment.
\n
• Conduct site surveys, assess customer requirements, and prepare technical proposals.
\n
• Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting through project award and delivery.
\n

Requirements

\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of experience selling engineered capital equipment.
\n
• Experience working with MEP consulting engineers and the bid/spec sales process.
\n
• Background in boilers, industrial equipment, pumps, heat exchangers, hydronic systems, or related mechanical equipment.
\n
• Strong business development skills and ability to manage a sales territory independently.
\n
• Engineering degree advantageous but not essential.
\n
• Based in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, or Maryland, with flexibility to travel throughout the territory.
\n
